PAPILIONIDAE – Swallowtail

Pipevine Swallowtail (Battus philenor): Not a common visitor but seen infrequently all throughout the year.

Black Swallowtail: (Papilo polyxenes): First recorded June 4, 2016.

Western Giant Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes): Common, though never in large numbers (oftentimes in pairs in the spring).  Numbers seem much higher in the late fall, as presumably some are migratory.
